Rarru Cascades

Rarru Cascades is a truly beautiful and peaceful setting you’re sure to treasure. Watch as water pours down over a natural ridge deep within the jungle and take a moment to breathe it all in. With rope swings, shallow areas, and spots to swim under the falls, this is certainly a spot to remember.

SHORE EXCURSION HIGHLIGHTS

Discover the wonderland of marine life that lies beneath the surface of Port Vila Bay by cruising on a glass-bottom boat and then snorkeling at a sheltered reef nearby.

You may see larger creatures such as green sea turtles, hawksbill turtles and spotted eagle rays, which often swim near the surface of the water, even breaching it at times. All sorts of tropical fish also populate the reefs, including brightly colored clown fish, odd-looking little dragon fish, and humpback grouper, a beautiful polka-dotted species that's highly endangered.

Ekasup Cultural Village

Drive into the heart of the dense Erakor rainforest to tiny Ekasup, a village with no electricity that still practices the traditional ways of their ancestors. In a display of the tribe's once fierce nature, the chief and several warriors armed with clubs, spears, bows and arrows typically welcome visitors.

The beautiful clear blue waters off the coast are perfect for snorkeling or kayaking. The marketplace provides a great opportunity to stock up on homemade coconut oil, kava, and other local artifacts. The surrounding waters are a protected marine sanctuary, so they provide the perfect opportunity to experience untouched wildlife.

The beach on Mystery Island is gorgeous, and you can easily just snorkel straight from the shore.

A sun lounger will cost you around 500 vatu / $5 AUD for the whole day. They are set up on a couple of different beaches around the island, so you can go for a wander and book wherever takes your fancy.

You can also get a fresh coconut, a massage, or some local souvenirs from the sellers nearby.

Mystery Island is pretty small and you can walk around it in less than half an hour. The pathway is sandy, flat, and honestly, you’ll be fine walking around it barefoot.

Along the way, you can appreciate the gardens planted by the locals, some trees and lovely flowers, as well as the beautiful ocean views.

By walking around, you’ll see some of the highlights here, and let’s be honest, how often in life can you say you’ve walked around an entire island?

One of the most unusual parts of Mystery Island is the large grassed airstrip.  The airstrip was built by the United States Military to serve the island of Aneityum during World War II

If you go to Mystery Island, you can check out a kava ceremony at the Mystery Island Kava Bar.

Meet Some Local Wildlife

You’ll need to pay a small fee of $2.00 AUD /  200 vatu to get your stamp.

Rent A Private Beach Hut

If you’re keen to relax, then for sure rent a private beach hut, which will give you a bit of comfort, privacy, and luxury.
