Optional 3 night pre cruise stay in Vancouver JULY 16-19,2025

Wed. July 16th 2025 – Arrive in Vancouver on your own arrangement and make your way to our hotel.  We will be staying at the Holiday Inn or Holiday inn Express or similar.

We will have a group orientation tonight.

Thurs. July 17th, 2025 – The morning we will be picked up for our sightseeing tour.

We will enjoy a guided city sites tour highlighted by the awesome Capillano Suspension Bridges.

Vancouver City + Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Tour

Blend city scenery with an escape with nature on this Vancouver City and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park sightseeing tour. On this 5-hour tour, expect stops along the way to get outdoors and enjoy some of British Columbia’s best scenery.

During your tour, walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge, stroll through a temperate rainforest, and soak up the atmosphere in the bustling Granville Island Public Market. You’ll get to drive through diverse neighborhoods including Chinatown and Gastown as your expert guide brings Vancouver’s colorful history to life.

Tour Highlights

  • See the urban and natural sides of Vancouver in one comprehensive tour
  • Cross the Capilano Suspension Bridges for unrivalled Capilano River views
  • Visit Granville Island Public Market, a food-lover’s dream destination
  • Your expert guide shares commentary on Vancouver’s settler history, urban culture and vibrant food scene

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

Vancouver blends urban culture with jaw-dropping natural landscapes beautifully, and nowhere is this more clear than within Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Take a relaxing stroll beneath the shade of temperate rainforest, and soak up spectacular Capilano River views from the famous Capilano Suspension Bridges. The Treetops Adventure course connects seven viewing platforms to massive 1,300 year-old Douglas Fir trees. And for those who prefer the views from terra firma, take a stroll along the Living Forest Trail to learn the stories behind the forest’s native flora and fauna.

Enjoy the view of the thriving coastal rainforest from towering platforms and seven suspension bridges, which take you far beyond the forest floor.

Granville Island Public Market

Granville Island wows food-lovers with its bustling public market, and the traders here serve up some of the best food and drink Vancouver has to offer. On top of that, the public market is brimming with creativity — with arts and crafts, galleries, live performances and more. Famously colorful, with a vibrant, West Coast vibe, Granville Island is a must-see destination. So go with the flow and enjoy this modern cultural hit!

Canada Place

If sustainable architecture is of interest to you, your jaw will drop when you see the buildings of the Vancouver Convention Centre. Even though the original East Building at Canada Place is an impressive sight on its own, the West Building, constructed in 2002, is of a design that will inspire the environmentalist in everyone. You may notice the "living roof" covered in vegetation, but what you won't see is that the building's waste water is treated and recycled for irrigation of the roof. You also won't be able to see the building's LEED Platinum certification in sustainable design, or the building's PowerSmart designation, or it's GO GREEN certification for environmental best practices, but they are indeed all there!

This evening is at leisure.  IF you wish, join us for an optional visit to Vancouver’s observation deck tower to see the sunset with a panoramic view from high above the city.

Fri. July 18th, 2025

BUTCHART GARDENS, VICTORIA BRITISH COLUMBIA

Enjoy round-trip travel from Vancouver to Victoria, and discover top attractions in British Columbia on this Victoria and Butchart Gardens day trip from Victoria. Take the ferry to Vancouver Island, and enjoy fine views over the beautiful Gulf Islands. Dock in Swartz Bay, and visit the famous Butchart Gardens, exploring the grounds at your leisure. Then, enjoy free time to explore the city, perhaps walking through Chinatown and the Inner Harbor, before returning to Vancouver by ferry.

INCLUDED 5 NIGHT POST CRUISE LAND TOUR ITINERARY

AFTER OUR CRUISE, Enjoy AN INCLUDED 5 night LAND TOUR exploring two MORE beautiful national parks, Kenai Fjords National Park and Denali National Park, with lodging at three stunning lodges owned and operated by Princess Cruise Line, as well as a day in Fairbanks.

Sat. July 26th, 2025

We will be transferred this morning by Princess Cruise line to the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge for a 1-night retreat. Arriving at noon, this afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy optional excursions or enjoy a full day excursion inside Kenai Fjords National Park (A full day excursion with Princess Cruise Line’s expert staff picking you up at the cruise pier for a full day exploring this very unique and pristine national park and then bringing you to the Princess Wilderness Lodge, where your bags will have been efficiently delivered by Princess and be waiting for you upon your arrival.) or if you prefer, just relax and explore the beautiful scenery and the lodge at your own pace.

Perhaps you'll explore Kenai Fjords National Park on your own, by river rafting, or by a scenic boat excursion to see its natural beauty or maybe even go fishing.

KENAI NATURE TRAIL

At just under a mile long, the Kenai Nature Trail is the perfect short hike to introduce you to Alaska’s beauty directly from the comfort of the lodge.

If you wish, take a relaxing stroll along this scenic nature trail as a way to enjoy the local scenery yourself, or as a great way to warm up for longer hiking trails nearby, such as the four-hour guided Kenai Nature Hike or the gold-panning  Backcountry Prospecting tour, which you can book through the front desk of Kenai Lodge.

The Kenai Nature Trail meanders through spruce trees and along the bluff of the spectacular blue-green Kenai River, offering the opportunity to view some of Alaska’s native birds, such as majestic bald eagles, three species of ptarmigans and Arctic terns. A half-mile trail loop also is available. The trail is not difficult, but we recommend good walking shoes.

Whatever way you choose to explore this stunning national park and her surroundings, you will then also enjoy returning to your bungalow-style lodging with its wood-burning stove and sun porch for an evening of pure relaxation.

KENAI PRINCESS WILDERNESS LODGE

A MOST UNIQUE LODGING EXPERIENCE NESTLED ALONG THE TRANQUILITY OF KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK.

Each of the bungalow-style rooms at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge has been designed for the utmost in comfort and relaxation. Vaulted ceilings made of naturally finished wood, cozy sitting areas with wood-burning stoves and private porches help make any occasion memorable. The perfect mix of tranquility and adventure characterizes your Kenai lodging experience.

A FEAST FOR THE EYES

The main lodge is as inviting as the guest rooms. The lobby has vaulted ceilings and a fireplace surrounded by chairs for relaxing and visiting with friends. Just beyond the lobby is an expansive deck, optimal for viewing the Kenai River valley, nearby mountains, and the bright blue waters of the Kenai River just below. Enjoy spirits, appetizers, and casual fare outdoors or inside at Rafter's Lounge. Continue to the Rod & Reel Restaurant where the magnificent views, stone fireplace, and tempting cuisine make dining an unforgettable event. Unmatched by other Kenai lodging, our wilderness lodge amenities make you feel right at home!

AN OUTDOOR PARADISE

While it can be hard to leave the cozy romance of our wilderness lodge, the great outdoors offers its own scenic appeal. The Kenai River is not only famous for its dazzling blue-green hues, but also as a haven for accomplished and novice anglers alike. The Tour Desk is staffed with Princess professionals who arrange fishing tours on the Kenai River — famous for its trophy-sized fish — plus river rafting, nature hikes, wildlife viewing cruises through Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park, and more!

Wed. July 30th,2025               Fairbanks

Mid-morning coach to Fairbanks for a 1-night stay.

This afternoon we will enjoy an included four hour river boat cruise on an authentic Sternwheeler Riverboat down the Chena River. The evening is at leisure in Fairbanks.

Enjoy a cruise on the Chena and Tanana rivers aboard an authentic sternwheeler and watch a bush pilot take off and land from a riverbank landing strip. From late June through early August, these waters teem with salmon. As the paddle wheel continues to churn the waters, witness the “wedding of the rivers.” When the clear waters of the Chena meet the glacier-fed Tanana, the result is clouds of silt that rise and fall over the river. Make a stop at the home of a late four-time Iditarod champion, meet some winning sled dogs and witness a sled-dog demonstration. Next, you’ll disembark the sternwheeler for a guided tour through a replica of an Athabascan Indian Village where you will learn about local life in depth.

Juneau, Alaska

https://www.princess.com/images/learn/ports/jnu.jpg

In 1880, it was slow going for Joe Juneau and Richard Harris as they searched for gold with the help of Native guides. After climbing mountains, forging streams and facing countless difficulties, they found nuggets "as large as beans."

From their discovery came three of the largest gold mines in the world. By the end of World War II, more than $150 million in gold had been mined. Eventually the mines closed, but the town Joe Juneau founded became the capital of Alaska and the business of gold was replaced by the business of government.

Some 30,000 people live in Juneau. Its total area makes it one of the biggest towns, in size, in the world. Only Kiruna, Sweden, and Sitka, Alaska, exceed Juneau's 3,248 square miles.

Today Juneau is famous not only for gold and government but also for its breathtakingly beautiful glaciers and stunning views of both water and mountain

Skagway, Alaska

https://www.princess.com/images/learn/ports/sgy.jpg

Skagway was the gateway to the gold fields for the thousands who flocked to Alaska and the Yukon with the hope of striking it rich. Skagway may have boasted the shortest route to the Klondike, but it wasn't the easiest.

Over 100 years ago, the White Pass route through the Coast Mountains and the shorter but steeper Chilkoot Trail were used by countless stampeders. Many a would-be miner perished on the treacherous Chilkoot Trail.

The gold rush was a boon and by 1898, Skagway was Alaska's largest town with a population of about 20,000. Hotels, saloons, dance halls and gambling houses prospered. But when the gold yield dwindled in 1900, so did the population as miners quickly shifted to new finds in Nome.

Today, Skagway has less than 1,000 residents. It still retains the flavor of the gold rush era.

Glacier Bay National Park (Scenic Cruising), Alaska

https://www.princess.com/images/learn/ports/gb1.jpg

Princess is one of a select few cruise lines permitted to cruise the pristine waters of Glacier Bay National Park, the highlight of our 7-day Voyage of the Glaciers cruise. Just west of Juneau, this breathtaking national park and preserve boasts some of the world's most spectacular tidewater glaciers, such as Margerie Glacier, which often drops colossal chunks of ice into the sea, (called calving activity) and making an incredible sound and spectacular sight to witness.. Not surprisingly, Glacier Bay National Park and its epic ice giants are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising Alaska's magnificent park system.

During your scenic cruise, friendly Park Rangers will join the ship to share their knowledge of this amazing place. They may even be able to help you identify Glacier Bay's abundant wildlife, including humpback whales, sea otters, porpoises, harbor seals, black bears, mountain goats, bald eagles and large colonies of seabirds.

Take in the awe-inspiring scenery as you enjoy an unforgettable day of sailing through this dazzling park, where you'll glide along emerald waters and past calving icebergs, and can breathe in the crisp, fresh air to your heart's content.

College Fjord (Scenic Cruising), Alaska

https://www.princess.com/images/learn/ports/cf1.jpg

Discovered in the northwest corner of Prince William Sound during an 1899 research expedition, spectacular College Fjord and its glaciers were named after prestigious east coast schools by the college professors who first laid eyes upon their majesty. Stretching for miles, these massive rivers of ice tumble down from mountains and through valleys, dipping into the pristine waters of the fjord. There you'll have a chance to watch the awe-inspiring process of glaciers calving, or dropping enormous pillars of ice into the sea, as they crack and land with a thunderous splash – a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed!

College Fjord not only boasts the world's largest collection of tidewater glaciers, but it features magnificent snowcapped mountains as far as the eyes can see. Plus, during the summer, it's not unheard of to catch a glimpse of one of the area's 40-ton humpback whales feeding in the waters of the fjord.

It's a magical wonderland of epic proportions, so breathtaking you won't want to blink!

Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge

Located at Cooper Landing in the middle of the Kenai Peninsula, the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge is perched high above the beautiful turquoise waters of the Kenai River. The lodge is the base for many wilderness activities and the starting point for the scenic drive to Seward, gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Cooper Landing was first settled by the Kenaitze Indians, who set up fish camps along the upper Kenai River. More recently, Cooper Landing was the site of the first gold discovery in Alaska in 1848, the year before the California Gold Rush. Early Russians discovered the gold but proved more interested in the fur trade. From Cooper Landing, the Kenai River flows 75 miles before entering Cook Inlet. World-famous fishing, scenic float trips and hiking are all located just a short distance from the lodge's front door.
