MARCH 11, 2024 – Depart the US from your home city on Silversea Cruise Line’s INCLUDED AIR. (Flights are included in coach class, but upgrades to Business class can be quoted upon request). MARCH 12, 2024 – Arrive in Dubai where you will enjoy Included transport to your 5 star hotel, provided by Silversea Cruise Line. Enjoy the rest of the day, night and the next morning, to explore Dubai’s many splendors at your leisure. Bold, brash and brilliant, Dubai’s explosion of wealth and wonder has created a dizzying, logic-defying desert wonderland. Boundary-pushing architecture, which gently nods to the region’s past - and a relentlessly futuristic vision - makes Dubai one of the most dynamic destinations on the planet. The hyper-speed transformation, from fishing village to glitzy mega-city, has been truly astounding, and it’s hard to avoid feeling humbled, as you stand dwarfed by cloud-scraping architecture, and some of the most elaborate, audacious engineering projects ever conceived. Fuelled by abundant oil reserves, it’s an understatement to say that there is cash to splash here. Whether it’s the gleaming sports cars that purr along the streets, or the luxury shopping malls that are decked out with colossal aquariums and amusement parks, credit cards are flexed with abandon here. The sheer scale of Dubai is stupefying, and the sight of the iconic Burj Khalifa towering over its not inconsiderable neighbors is surreally spectacular. Rocketing up a staggering 125 floors, the world’s tallest building is an elegant affair, tapering up into the ever-blue sky, and headlining this record-breaking city’s list of architectural wonders. The Dubai Fountain performs here each evening - a blaze of color and haze, its waters dance before the mighty tower behind. Dubai isn’t all about the skyward scramble, however, and the Miracle Garden is a vibrant, violent explosion of multicolored flowery landscaping. Elsewhere, white-sand beaches like Sunset Beach grant sanctuary to take it easy, and enjoy splendid views of instantly recognizable buildings like the Burj Al Arab, and the reclaimed islands that fan out across Dubai’s warm sea waters. Desert landscapes of rolling sand dunes raise the pulses of the adventurous, while fine-dining and lively nightlife makes Dubai a luxury destination that truly has it all. March 13th, 2024 – Enjoy the morning at leisure to further explore Dubai’s many splendors. A visit to the observation deck of the world’s tallest building can be arranged, as can a ride on the world’s tallest Ferris- wheel. Silver Spirit offers its guests one of the most complete cruise experiences available. March 14th, 2024 KHASIB OMAN 7AM-7PM It may be known as the Norway of Arabia - in reference to the spectacular fjords that cut and shape the Musandam Peninsular - but Khasab's sunshine and desert landscape is a constant reminder that you're a long way from Europe. Sitting isolated on Oman’s Northern coast - cut off by a slice of the United Arab Emirates' territory - this small city has a dreamy, introverted atmosphere - until you head out to slide across its rip-roaring mountain scenery that is. Just incredible. The outstanding beauty is just eye catching everywhere you look. Back on land, learn of local history at Khasab Castle, which was originally built in the 17th century by the Portuguese, to defend the narrowing of the Persian Gulf at this highly strategic point. It's accompanied by a museum, which depicts local life here back through the ages. Or drive out to Bedouin villages and enjoy the ride on the drive up to the viewpoint at Khawr Najd - where sweeping views of the flayed fjords unveil themselves. CHOOSE BETWEEN 2 INCLUDED EXCURSIONS FOR TODAY’S PORT FJORD DHOW CRUISE Duration: 3.5 hours The Musandam Peninsula has an abundance of sheltered fjords, some only connected to the mainland by narrow cliffs. Fjords, or khors, created by fragmented rock stretching claw-like into the sea and massive overshadowing cliffs towering above are magnificently reflected in the water below. Explore these khors from a traditional-style dhow, or motorized sailing boat. Entering the Musandam Fjords is like entering another world. Traditional Dhow Cruise & Refreshments Board the dhow either from alongside the ship or the pier. For many centuries, boats that sailed on the Indian Ocean have been called dhows. Traditional dhows are known for two distinctive features - the triangular or lateen sail, and secondly, it’s stitched construction of hull boards sewn together with fibers, cords or thongs. The dhow today is covered, with a ladder to allow you to take a dip in the sea. Depart the pier in air-conditioned coaches and begin the tour with a visit to the town's main attraction, the Khasab fort. This impressive stronghold was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century when they were seeking dominion over the maritime trade in the Strait of Hormuz. Teak wood from India was used for its construction and the roof was fashioned from a mix of palm leaves, clay and stone. The structure you see today is the result of extensive restoration work carried out since the late 20th century. A circular building in the center of the fort served as a kind of back up defense for additional protection. From the site of the fort you can enjoy excellent views and photo opportunities. Leaving Khasab, drive along the panoramic coastal road to Bukha, which borders the Emirate of Ras al Khaima. During the approximately one-hour drive, see spectacular scenery and make several stops for photographs of this ruggedly beautiful region. Upon arrival in Bukha, visit the 200-year-old fort.

FRI, MARCH 22 7:00am - 6:00pm Aqaba (Petra) Jordan
Improbably carved into the rusty-red rock of the Jordanian desert, the ancient city of Petra has been mesmerizing visitors since being rediscovered by Westerners in 1812. Siq Canyon provides a suitably grandiose welcome, cutting a deep track through layers of fiery sandstone, and building up the suspense, before you first set eyes on the Lost City’s majesty. The Treasury is perhaps Petra’s best-known structure, having featured in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as the mystical hiding place of the Holy Grail. Imprinted deep into the sheer sandstone, it’s a dramatic, spectacular achievement of human endeavor. Look closely, and you’ll see the indentations of bullet holes scarring the urn that sits atop it – fired by Bedouins fuelled by rumors of ancient treasure within. Petra developed as the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom, and the sophistication of the Rose Kingdom’s rock-hewn buildings is matched only by the elaborate and advanced water collection and transportation system. Look out for the delicate water channels that lace the city as you explore. High above the city - up a daunting 800-step climb - stands the Monastery. It’s lesser known, but larger and - whisper it quietly - perhaps even more impressive than the Treasury. The views of the remarkable city, embossed into the mighty sandstone cliffs below, will last a lifetime. INLCUDED EXCURSION CHOICES IN AQABA
Duration: 5 hours A meal is included in the excursion. Treat yourself to an afternoon of cruising and sun on the Red Sea during this half day snorkel adventure.

Wadi Rum As you enter the Wadi Rum region, its captivating and mystical beauty will astound you. Black, wind-sculpted hills stand like sentinels upon pale sands, interspersed by dramatic rock formations. Drive past the Wadi Rum Rest House and a small Bedouin community with its prized possession - Camels. Farther into the desert, you may be able to spot a few of the traditional black tents dotting the arid landscape. This Wadi Rum adventure concludes back at a Bedouin tent in the desert. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before heading back to Aqaba and the ship by coach.
OR UPGRADE TO SILVERSEA’S FULL DAY EXCURSION VISITING: PETRA - JORDAN'S TREASURE Duration: Nine and a half hours A meal is included in this excursion.
Enjoy the opportunity to visit Jordan's most famous attraction, the spectacular rose-red City of Petra during this full-day tour.
Depart the port in comfortable coaches and travel north along the Desert Highway. The last stretch is on country road through several small villages. Upon arrival at Petra, begin your visit on foot. The long, narrow gorge with steeply rising sides all but obliterates the sun. the walk is approx.. half of a mile long and is relatively flat. Most people take approx.. 20-30 minutes to reach the spectacular Treasury building. For those who wish, the path can also be traversed on horseback - at your own risk. (There is no charge for this service but the horseman will expect a gratuity.) Or, Optionally, a limited number of club carts are at the site, for a charge per person of $35 per person, and should be paid on the spot. Be aware that if you wish that service, you may have to wait in line. Each buggy carries five persons; but the ride can be quite bumpy. The Siq is the canyon that connects the city of Petra with the outside world. It’s a wondrous experience to walk on thousand-year-old cobblestones and see the curvy rock face in a multitude of colors. Look for traces of ancient dams and water channels used by the Nabateans to control the water supply into the city. As the Siq was the main entrance to the city, the Nabateans carved magnificent statues and arches along the Siq. Little of it can be seen today but look carefully… what may at first look like a hump in the rock face may actually be a carving of a camel. The Khazneh (Treasury building) As you exit the gorge, it suddenly opens into a natural square dominated by Petra's most famous monument, the Treasury. Its intricately carved façade presents a magnificent sight in the dazzling sun. If you have seen the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, you will no doubt recognize the façade. Pictures you may have seen do not even do justice to the awe inspiring site when you get that first view of its mammoth structure carved intricately into the mountains surrounding it. Follow our Silversea cruise excursion guide further into the site and discover other impressive structures carved out of the rose-colored stone. They include temples, royal tombs and an amphitheater that could seat 3,000 spectators. The Petra basin boasts over 800 individual monuments; to explore it all would take several days. We will have approx.. 3 hours to explore the monuments here. One of the most prominent, which you may choose to visit if you wish, in that free time, beyond the Treasury building itself, is the Monastery. Hidden high in the hills, the Monastery is one of the legendary monuments of Petra. Similar in design to the Treasury but far bigger (50m wide and 45m high), it was built in the 3rd century BCE as a Nabataean tomb. It derives its name from the crosses carved on the inside walls, suggestive of its use as a church in Byzantine times. The ancient rock-cut path of more than 800 steps starts from the Basin Restaurant and follows the old processional route. The cave tea shop opposite is a good vantage point for admiring the Monastery’s Hellenistic facade – particularly spectacular bathed in mid-afternoon sunlight.
Our visit of the Petra basin, approximately three hours, concludes with the walk (or horseback ride if you wish) back via the same way, to the visitor’s center. Afterwards, re-board the coach for the 2.5-hour drive back to the ship in Aqaba. The upgrade from today’s included half day excursions to this incredible full day visit to the wonders of Petra is available from Silversea for only $249. Ramses II added a statue of himself and a pair of 82-foot obelisks; one of them was taken to Paris in 1835, and today stands in the Place de la Concorde. Lunch and the Valley of the Kings Next, re-board your coach and proceed for a buffet lunch at a 5-star deluxe Hotel. After lunch, drive across the Nile to the West Bank for a visit to the Valley of the Kings. The mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which is dramatically perched at the head of a valley overshadowed by the peak of the Thebes. Queen Hatshepsut was the fifth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt. Egyptologists generally regard her as one of the most successful pharaohs, reigning longer than any other woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty.

Two INCLUDED SHORE EXCURSIONS TODAY
Saint-Anthony Monastery From the pier, you will board your coach and start your tour with a two hour-drive towards Saint-Anthony Monastery. This monastery is a Coptic Orthodox monastery standing in an oasis in the Eastern Egypt. It is one of the oldest monasteries in the world, which was established by the followers of Saint Anthony, who is often considered to be the first monk in the Christian religion.
According to The Bible, at the age of 34 Anthony gave away or donated to charity all of his property and worldly possessions; he ventured into the desert to seek a life of humility, solitude, and spiritual reflection. He made his abode in a small cave where he devoutly practiced an ascetic life. Although Anthony was not the very first monk, he is one of the fathers of modern Christian monasticism, and attracted many followers and disciples. Following the visit of the monastery, lunch will be served then you will visit St Paul Monastery.
Lunch and Monastery of Saint Paul the Anchorite The Monastery of Saint Paul the Anchorite dates to the fifth century AD. It was founded over the cave where Saint Paul lived for eighty years. Because of repeated attacks by the Bedouins, the monastery was deserted for 119 years, until it was repopulated by a group of monks from the Monastery of Saint Anthony under the patronage of Pope John XVI of Alexandria, who promoted an extensive reconstruction of the monastery. The modern monastery has three different churches. That of Saint Paul of Anchorite which is built underground, and was originally dug into the cave where the saint lived and where his remains are kept. The two other churches are named after Saint Mercurius and Archangel Michael. The monastery is surrounded by high walls, built during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It also has a tower (keep), an ancient refectory, a mill, and a spring that is believed to have served Paul during his eighty years of seclusion in this area. A second spring, known as the Pool of Mary is named after Mary, the sister of Moses who is believed to have washed her feet there during the Exodus. This monastery also keeps many illustrated manuscripts. After visiting Saint-Paul Monastery, it will be time to travel for approximately two hours to return to Ain Sokhna port and rejoin the ship..

Or upgrade today’s included excursion to Silversea’s selected excursion for today GREAT PYRAMIDS OF GIZA with lunch/belly dance show or GREAT PYRAMIDS OF GIZA WITH GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
Duration: 10 hours A meal is included in the excursion.
During the journey to Cairo via the desert road, your guide will provide interesting facts about the sites you will be visiting. Upon arrival you will be visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza considered to be the most famous of Egypt's attractions and the only monuments left of the ancient wonders. The three main Pyramids at Giza were built as tombs by Cheops, his son Chephren, and Chephren's son Mykiernus to preserve each of the pharaohs' mummified body for eternity. For centuries, these unique structures have intrigued the world while surviving the rise and fall of great dynasties. One of the major highlights of this visit will be the entrance of Cheops Pyramid where you have the change to enter inside the Pyramid up to King Cheops burial chamber. Southeast of the great pyramid stands the sphinx carved out of solid rock around 2650 BC. Steeped in legend and superstition, the sphinx was a monument either to the sun god Ra or to Pharaoh Chephren. It has the head of a man and the body of a lion. The monument faces east, probably to greet the rising sun and the return of life each day. It is the oldest and largest of the pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain intact. Egyptologists conclude that the pyramid was built as a tomb for the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu and estimate that it was built in the 26th century BC during a period of around 27 years.
Lunch and Folkloric Show/Belly Dancer Enjoy lunch at one of the deluxe hotels at the Pyramids area while watching a belly dancer and folkloric show. Finally, a visit of a Papyrus Institute where you will receive an explanation about how Papyrus paper was made in old times. Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as a writing surface. It was made from the pith of the papyrus plant. It was first known to have been used in Egypt at least as far back as the First Dynasty as it was abundant across the Nile Delta. It was also used throughout the Mediterranean region and in the Kingdom of Kush. Papyrus was used in the construction of other artifacts such as reed boats, maps, rope, sandals and baskets. A short stop will be made for shopping before driving back to rejoin the ship. The upgrade cost from today’s included excursions to this fabulous full day excursion highlighted by visiting the Great Pyramids is $249.

March 26th, 2024 Suez Canal Transit The Suez Canal, gouged through Africa, is one of the world’s engineering marvels - linking two seas, and drastically shortening boat voyages around this huge continent. Few manmade waterways are so storied and iconic, and sailing the length of it is a bucket list item for many explorers.
The Suez Canal connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea through the Isthmus of Suez dividing Africa and Asia.
The construction of the canal started in 1859, and took ten years to complete, with the canal officially opening in November 1869. More than a million people worked on the project, often in unimaginable conditions. An engineering breakthrough, the canal connected the Mediterranean to the Red Sea - drastically improving global trade's efficiency. A hugely strategic and precious bottleneck, it has inevitably led to conflicts - and been vulnerable to scuttling to block its usage. The Six-Day War closed the canal, leaving 15 unfortunate ships trapped within for eight years. An amazing story, the crew members of the Yellow Fleet - named as their ships slowly gathered desert sand - adapted and created a community within the confines of Bitter Lake. Sit back and admire the desert views, as you transit the 101 Mile expanse, occasionally interrupted by little villages, with domed mosques and minarets towering into the sky. Look out for the tiny fishing boats that share the canal’s waterway, dwarfed by giant container ships - the plucky fishermen courageously refuse to yield to the massive vessels they sail beside. There is no need for locks in the canal, as the two seas sit at the same level, and passing lanes ensure that ships can travel the engineering marvel in both directions.
We will be cruising through the canal all day, so you can enjoy the views when and how you wish at any time throughout the day, be it from the comfort of your own balcony, or on one of the many open decks on the ship, with expert commentary from the experts on the ship’s navigational bridge. March 28th, 2024 Heraklion GREECE 8am-6pm Heraklion's patchwork of history, bustling activity and cultural intrigue makes it the perfect change of pace. This is certainly no sleepy island fishing village, and Greece's fifth-largest city is adorned with a rich collection of quality museums, ancient ruins from antiquity, and a lively culture of its own. A refreshing shift-up from the many quaint beach towns and fishing villages you'll encounter in the Greek islands, Heraklion – also known as Iraklio - has great shopping, extraordinary history and is the ideal base for ventures to the archaeological treasures of Crete. Traded by the Arabic, Venetian and Ottoman empires over the years, Heraklion is a multi-layered place with fascinating tales to tell. The city's impressive Venetian fortress, which waits over the gently rolling waves of the gleaming Mediterranean, welcomes you ashore. A stroll out along the seawall, alongside creaking fishing boats, will take you out to the squat fortifications that have stood since 1540. If you wish, you can climb to the top for views out across the water, back towards the city's waterfront. Outside the city, enjoy an excursion to see the treasures from the realms of history, including the Bronze Age remnants of Europe's oldest city, Knossos and the Palace of Knosses. A visit to the fantastic Archaeological Museum of Heraklion ties all of this history together and exhibits relics from the civilizations and eras of Crete's past. Elsewhere, Daidalou's pedestrianized paving is a charming stroll through Heraklion's shops, with streets branching off to café-lined plazas and twinkling fountains. Stop to try local food - like fresh feta and olive sprinkled dakos mezze – all washed down with a sample of local raki brandy.
INCLUDED EXCURSIONS IN THIS PORT
4 hours Explore the storied past of the Palace of Knossos during this scenic and informative, half-day sightseeing excursion. Depart the pier for the brief drive to Knossos, the ancient capital of the great King Minos. Constructed around 1900 B.C., the original Palace of Knossos was destroyed by an earthquake about 200 years later, then rebuilt on a grander scale. Knossos was devastated again with the eruption of the volcano in Santorini around 1500-1450 B.C. Despite this blow, people continued to live here for another fifty years until a fire swept throughout the city circa 1400 B.C. Upon arrival, take a guided tour through the fantastic ruins of the ancient palace complex, which served as the administrative and religious center for the whole region. Along the way, see the living quarters of the king, queen and members of the royal court, rooms for state occasions, the theatre area, store rooms, and potters' workshops.
Heraklion Archaeological Museum Following your tour of the palace ruins, re-board your coach and proceed to the Heraklion Archaeological museum to further discover the ancient civilization. It houses representative artifacts from all the periods of Cretan prehistory and history, covering a chronological span of over 5,500 years from the Neolithic period to Roman times. The singularly important Minoan collection contains unique examples of Minoan art, many of them true masterpieces. The Heraklion Museum is rightly considered as the best in the world for Minoan art, as it contains the most notable and complete collection of artifacts of the Minoan civilization of Crete. After approximately 60 minutes, the tour will conclude with a brief transfer back to the pier.

With its superb architectural composition and its almost perfect construction, it is considered to be the finest and most typical of all Minoan palaces. Following your tour, continue with a brief transfer to the great ancient city of Gortyn. Gortyn was one of the oldest and strongest cities in Crete during the prehistoric and historic period and the first city of Crete to accept Christianity.
