At some distance from the cottages, our Tiger’s Den Bar environs in such a way that the nature can be felt closely and deeply. Our bar is well-equipped to serve aperitif-spirits, wines and liqueurs.

The evenings are filled with lively performances which brings the forest alive. Colorfully dressed Tharu girls and boys exhibit their culture through dance and music performances forming a rhythm that will definitely sway you with it. We also offer juggling and fire shows on request.

There are several ways to explore Chitwan’s wilderness and its wildlife here. All of these wildlife viewing experiences are included in our trip package.  Jeep safari, Boat safaris, Jungle walk and  Elephant safaris will amaze you at the opportunity to see the wildlife up close in their natural habitat and are each included in our three night safari experience..

Village visits on foot or by oxcart are also organized and included  to provide a sneak peek into the cultural aspect of Chitwan.  Tharu cultural dance performance by a local group is organized at the lodge in the evenings

Chitwan boasts 67 different species of wildlife including rhinos, tigers, deer, monkeys, elephants, leopards, sloth bears, wild boar and hyenas.  Birdwatchers can see 544 different species of birds, while butterfly spotters have identified at least 60 species, some as large as your hand.

One Horned Indian Rhino- Chitwan is one of the last refuges of the rare one horned Indian rhino and they are one of the most commonly seen of animals on safari in this national park.

Asian Elephant – the Asian Elephants are all over the park.  They are the second largest land mammal in the world.  In addition to those which we will ride on our elephant back safaris and bathe on our Elephant bathing experience, elephants are frequently spotted simply roaming the jungle lands on their own.  We may likely ride on safari on one elephant right up to other elephants strolling their natural jungle habitat on their own.  They also often come out to eat or drink along the river, especially at night, which provides a great natural viewing experience either at our sunset cocktail hours along the river, or after sunset, by just sitting alongside the river at our lodge.  The last time we did this trip, we gathered at sunset at our lodge as an elephant was spotted walking within sight and many of our passengers got priceless photos

Royal Bengal Tiger – Elusive but thrilling when spotted here, they do make there habitat in the jungles of Chitwan National Park.  The intelligence, size and power of the royal Bengal toger make it one of the most majestic and most feared animals in the jungle

Crocodiles – Chitwan has a significant population of Gharial crocodiles.  The gharial is a bizarre looking crocodile with a slender, elongated snout crammed with ill fitting teeth and a bulbous protuberance at the end of its snout.

Leopard – Leopards are always a thrill to see on any safari and that is no different here in Chitwan.  They roam the jungle here and our naturalists guides are very skilled in finding them and pointing them out on our safari activities.

Sloth Bear –Technically not part of the big five, they are just as much of a wow to spot in the jungle.  These are shaggy black bears.  They are smaller than the traditional black bear and usually look the size of a very large dog, but they have a reputation as the most feared animal in the jungle along with the tiger.  Their name comes from their long claws resembling that on a sloth in the 19th century and their excellent tree climbing ability.

Day 05, Oct 18 : (B,L,D) Morning boat safari to see wildlife along the river followed by a special breakfast along the river bank at Golaghat and then we will be returned to the lodge via village by drive.

On our boat safari, you will glide along the placid water of the Rapti River looking out for Crocodiles and several Wetland Species, including rare birds, both migratory and residents and if lucky get a closer view of the Rhinos wallowing in water. Our Boat safari lets you enjoy the wildlife from the comforts of the boat. Our Boat Safari is a peaceful one hour ride that is concluded with breakfast at the merging point of Rapti and Narayani River

Midday elephant briefing followed by Elephant feeding and then Elephant bathing  in the river  and then lunch at the lodge.

You will actually be on the back of your elephant in the river, as he splashes you with water from his trunk.  It is an exhilarating experience which our passengers were thrilled at the last time we ran this tour.

Late Afternoon elephant back safari to see wildlife in the jungle

This Riverine jungle forest is dominated by Silk Cotton trees and Grassland along with three natural watering holes, where a good population of Rhinos often return to drink and is a spot for visits of the jungle’s other natural predators, such as the leopard and if we are lucky, we can even witness the Bengal Tiger.

After our elephant back safari we will be returned to our lodge for dinner at the lodge or if you wish a special dining experience tonight, you can join the resort’s optional bush dinner in the jungle by lantern lights. B, L, D

Crocodiles we saw on our boat safari the last time we ran this trip.

Day 06, Oct 19 : (B,L,D)  Morning Jeep safari with breakfast in the jungle (4-5 hours total safari with breakfast in the jungle); This is another special experience, as our experienced local naturalist guides will take us to spots in the jungle best suited to spot by jeep the animals in the natural jungle habitat.  Its another great way to experience the dense flora and vivacious wildlife of Chitwan as we pass through various habitats following their tracks in the company of an experienced naturalist.  We will then be returned to the lodge for lunch at  the lodge.

After lunch we will be taken to visit a local orphanage.  We will ride a most unique form of transport -  by oxcart and then upon arrival, we will enjoy the heartwarming experience of interacting with the local children at play on the orphanage grounds (last time, we played “ring around the rosie” with the young children outside on the orphanage grounds and the experience just melted the hearts of our passengers with the bonds they formed with the young orphaned children.)

Upon returning to the lodge by oxcart, we will enjoy a late afternoon boat safari to again spot more wildlife along the river followed by a sunset reception along the river, followed by dinner included at the lodge. B, L, D

Tonight, enjoy an included local performance by the native Tharu cultural dancers in our lodge to show you the traditional stick dance and other dancing skills of local people
