Each day we will enjoy both a morning and an afternoon included shore excursion by the ship’s ultra modern zodiac boats taking us to the remote regions where we will search for polar bears, walruses, native birds and unique landscapes.

Each of our landings will present the option for short or long guided walks and hikes, led by professional arctic naturalist guides. It will be up to you if you choose to just relax on the beach and take in the breathtaking up close scenery from there or join your professional arctic naturalist guide to explore further by foot with your fellow passengers. Walking sticks are available for those desiring one.

Our ship’s highly trained navigational crew will also be constantly on the lookout for where the polar bears and walruses are lounging on the icebergs and glaciers and will steer us to the best viewing spots to witness them from them spacious outer decks of our ship and the balconies which are included on every cabin of our brand new luxury Arctic navigational cruise ship.

A mother polar bear and two cub polar bears walk together on the snowy ground along the coastlines near Spitzbergen, where our ship will be cruising and our zodiac excursions will venture.

Sail north into Krossjford and have your camera ready to capture some of the best glaciers in Spitsbergen. Deep in the fjord, the highly active Lilliehöök Glacier awaits. Listen in awe to the growling as big chunks break off into the icy waters below. A Zodiac excursion to nearby Ny London, an abandoned mining settlement, provides an ideal place for a guided walk. Encounters with wildlife, such as the indigenous Svalbard reindeer, are possible here.

After an overnight cruising, wake up to the stunning sight of the magnificent Monaco Glacier - another prolific iceberg producer. Scan the shorelines and ice edge for marine animals, again with the focus of our lookout being the amazing polar bears and walrus communities native to this region, as well as many native bird species.

Our possible landing sites today include Texas Bar, Worsleyneset and the Andoyane Islands, where polar bears have been known to frequently roam. At 80°N, we will reach a walrus sanctuary on the tiny, crescent-shaped Moffen Island. Watching from the ship and again from our zodiacs enroute to land will produce memorable sightings, as large groups of these lumbering giants jockey for space, giving all of us an unforgettable experience.

Afterward, cruising to Magdalenafjord rewards you with panoramic vistas of snow-capped mountains and massive glaciers reflected in the crystal-clear waters.

During the last full day of this arctic adventure, visit the Russian mining town of Barentsburg, home of the world’s northernmost brewery. We may even round out the day in Alkehornet, taking in the towering cliffs teeming with nesting seabirds, such as fulmars and Brünnich’s guillemots (thick-billed murres). Encounters with reindeer are possible. Later, in the evening, swap stories with your shipmates and crew one last time, at the captain’s dinner.

See Oslo and its surrounding countryside the same way locals have for thousands of years: by water.

Discover the scenery on a traditional wooden boat, fully restored to its former glory. You'll sail past numerous islands, including Hovedoya and the Dyna Lighthouse, through narrow inlets and into sheltered bays so that you can capture the capital on camera from different angles.

The boat passes close to the Bygdoy peninsula, home to many interesting museums and beaches, such as Huk Bay. See the Maritime Museum with its veteran sailing ships moored outside, and the impressive Fram Museum, housing the polar ship of the same name.

During your cruise, a local Norwegian snack of shrimp will be offered, and a wide range of both hot and cold drinks are available for purchase at the bar.

See Oslo the way it was meant to be seen on a traditional wooden sailing ship, all while enjoying traditional food.

Following the completion of our sunset cruise, we will watch an amazing sunset over the Oslo waterfront (sunset is 10:35pm local time today in Oslo).

Departs at 7pm and returns at 10pm

TRAVEL INSURANCE – An emergency evacuation insurance policy is included in your trip cost.  However, it does not provide coverage for cancelation, medical expenses or baggage.  The cruise line requires that all passengers provide proof of out of country medical insurance which must include a minimum of $50,000USD of emergency medical coverage.

This may be provided by your own personal or secondary insurance provider and you can simply provide proof of that coverage at any time prior to 60 days before your trip, to satisfy the cruise line’s requirement of such.  Or if you do not have such coverage through your personal or secondary insurance provider, you may purchase medical only coverage for rates far less than policies which also cover cancelation

We also recommend the purchase of travel insurance to cover you for cancelation due to medical reasons.  We offer for purchase travel insurance provided by Alianz Global travel insurance company, which covers you for cancelation due to sickness, injury or death of a family member, traveling companion in your cabin, or yourself.  It also covers lost or damaged baggage.  These policies can be purchased at any time and generally, when canceling for covered reasons, will allow you to cancel for a full refund any time until 24 hours prior to your trip dates.

If there is a pre-existing medical condition which you wish to cover, you should purchase the travel insurance no more than 14 days after making your trip deposit.  If you do not have a pre-existing medical condition that you wish to cover, then we suggest buying the travel insurance at any time prior to the date your deposit becomes non refundable.

Cancelation insurance is not required.  The only insurance required is out of country medical coverage.  As stated above, this may be provided by your own personal or secondary insurance provider and you can simply provide proof of that coverage at any time prior to 60 days before your trip, to satisfy the cruise line’s requirement of such.  Or if you do not have such coverage through your personal or secondary insurance provider, you may purchase medical only coverage for rates far less than policies which also cover cancelation.  If you wish details and rate comparisons, between medical only and medical with cancelation and baggage coverage, feel free to contact us anytime during business hours.
