Departing Dubai’s skyscraper studded skyline, sail first to Abu Dhabi, then on to Doha, the sparkling capital of Qatar, which played host to the world in the 2022 World Cup of Soccer tournament.
Next, we will visit the sites of the kingdom of Bahrain and then we will be amongst the first tourists to cruise into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as Silversea is the first cruise line given the rights to visit this once secluded nation, now just opening its sightseeing treasures to the world of tourism.
After a glorious day at sea, we will also visit Muscat, the magnificent capital of Oman, prior to two more relaxing sea days. Then it’s “Namaste” – on to India for a chance to visit the fast paced city of Mumbai, as our ship enjoys a 2 day visit there, as well as a day visiting the little known city of Cochin India.

Nov. 24th, 2023 – You will be picked up at the Dubai airport with Silversea’s special transfer service and taken to their 5 star hotel in Dubai that Silversea has arranged for your one night Pre cruise hotel stay.

Elsewhere, white-sand beaches like Sunset Beach grant sanctuary to take it easy, and enjoy splendid views of instantly recognizable buildings like the Burj Al Arab, and the reclaimed islands that fan out across Dubai’s warm sea waters. Emerging from the desert’s sands like a mirage, Abu Dhabi's bold, brash and brilliant skyline continues to reach new heights. You’ll shrink before the scale of the 50 exquisite, pearl-white domes of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, which is the UAE's largest and most revered religious space. A futuristic vision kept grounded by its heritage, this sprawling metropolis's ambitious structures echo the ancient Arabic art that long preceded its rise. Explore the luxurious and fascinating tapestry of interwoven extravagance and tradition that is Doha's trademark, as you soak up the sun, sea and skyline of this ever-sparkling city. Founded in the 1820s, Doha has grown apace from its pearl-farming village origins. A well of oil riches helped to propel the city on its upward trajectory, fuelling a cityscape of twisted metal and glass that shimmers amid the peninsula's desert blaze. Despite the vertical ambitions, you can quickly lose yourself in Doha's tight web of alleyways, as you delve into the oldest souk in Qatar - which swallows visitors up in a cacophony of bartering and bantering. Goods have traded hands here for over a hundred years, and it's still, the place to pick out handfuls of fresh dates and nuts, or perch at restaurants serving up saloona - a heavily spiced and perfumed broth of lamb and soft aubergine.
Wander the Corniche's four-mile parade, which unspools at the feet of skyscrapers that glow, jewel-like with multicolored allure as night descends. You'll walk with the vibrant colors of the Persian Bay stretching out next to you. The palm-tree-lined boulevard culminates in the spectacular Museum of Islamic Art, which stands proudly like a giant, glinting sandcastle. Doha may have blossomed rapidly, but it's clear that the ambition doesn't stop here – and the city's boom continues as its time in the sun as host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup (soccer) tournament welcomed nations and fans from all across the world for 4 weeks in late Nov/Dec. of 2022, exactly one year before our cruise, leaving behind many great souvenir opportunities from that event for any fan of the sport, as well as leaving behind many glamorous structures from the world’s sporting showcase.

Think dreamy Arabian landscapes juxtaposed with uber-modern buildings reaching up to the sky and you have probably pictured Al Manama. The capital of Bahrain, Al Manama, is as old as it is new – vestiges of the 16th-century trade route port remain, while the steel and glass skyscrapers line the streets of the busy financial district. The most notable of these is undoubtedly the 2008 World Trade Centre, a 240-meter (720 feet), 50-floor twin tower complex housing a five-star hotel and a luxury shopping mall, amongst others. Al Manama was first mentioned in Islamic chronicles in 1345, so expect aeons of culture here.
The city is still relatively unknown on the tourist trail, which is good news for us. Locals are warm and welcoming and above all, completely genuine. Expect invitations to taste homemade delicacies, bowls laden with Muslim hospitality and tradition. This is most apparent in the enormous Bab el-Bahrain Souq, which aside from restoration delivers everything from jewelry to carpets. Culture vultures will not be disappointed.
The famous Al Fateh Mosque gives weary travellers a welcome respite. Al Fateh is also known as the Great Mosque, due to its immense size, 6,500 m2 and able to accommodate 7,000 worshipers at a time. The Mosque itself is beautiful with marble floors and glass chandeliers, but visitors should note that it is a Muslim place of worship and traditions must be respected; shoes should be removed, and ladies must cover their heads at all times. The Bahrain National Museum is just a stone’s throw from the Mosque and houses an impressive collection of culture, customs and history.

Silversea is the first cruise line which has been granted the rights to enter the port of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and explore its sightseeing treasures, previously hidden from tourism. Saudi Arabia is a land of so many such sightseeing treasures, and you will have the chance to see them now, without the crowds, before it becomes the next big tourist haven over the next decade.
Once a sleepy fishing village, Dammam is a strikingly modern city that underwent complete transformation in the 1940’s after the discovery of oil.
To get an overview of Dammam head for the Corniche. Day or night it’s an extremely popular place to catch the sea breeze, go for a jog or simply people watch. There are buzzing cafes, gardens to rest in and art installations to admire. From here head out to sea by bridge or ferry and visit Al Murjan, a small artificial island busy with locals and visitors alike.
Half Moon Bay beach is the most idyllic around with white sands and clear blue water, it’s great for scuba diving with plenty to see on the artificial reef.
Dammam is an absolute shopper’s delight, a perfect mix of traditional style markets selling authentic Saudi goods and huge modern shopping malls, offering luxury global brands and comfortable surroundings. It’s impossible to come away empty handed.

Oman’s capital rests overlooking the coast of the Gulf of Oman, tucked away among the country’s mountains. Discover a city surrounded by neat gardens - with streets lined by palm trees and crumbling Portuguese forts providing a tangible link to the past. Explore an elegant array of domes, minarets and marbled Arabic archways, as you’re immersed in a city where a traditional conservative outlook mingles with a pragmatic modern approach. Despite a relative boom in recent years, Muscat has clung to its old-world Arabian charm. Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is the main mosque and an iconic landmark of Muscat.
No fewer than 20,000 people cram inside below its towering minaret, which soars upwards for a stunning 90 meters. In the evening, lights shine on the exterior, and the dome glows like a mirage floating above the city’s rooftops. White and grey marble gleams inside, and you won’t miss the showpiece chandelier - which weighs in at a staggering eight tons. The hand-woven carpet is no less impressive, created using 1.7 million knots. The Mutrah area is rich with local culture. Wander among the groaning tables of the lively fish market and busy Mutrah souk.
Mutrah Fort was constructed during the Portuguese occupation of the 16th century and offers views back down over the harbor. Things can get a little sticky in this humid climate, so head to the beach to enjoy a gentle breeze and unwind. Nearby, you’ll find plenty of indulgent stretches of soft sand, met by pristine water. Swim with fish and turtles or relax below the palm trees. Or take a cruise to spot spinner dolphins playing in the waters offshore.

Experience the waters around Muscat as the ancient mariners did on this half-day cruise aboard a traditional dhow.
The sight of the graceful sail of the dhow is synonymous with being in an exotic and far away land. For thousands of years Omanis have plied a sea-trading thoroughfare on trusty Dhows, The 'Lubna' provides interior and exterior seating. Indoors, overlooking the sea is an Arabic style saloon with stained glass windows and outside is 'majlis' or Arabic-style floor seating, all surrounded in traditional Omani ambience. The voyage is a carefully selected route along old Muscat, taking in scenes of Omani history from Portuguese architecture at the cornice to the modern wonders of the Al Alam Palace.

Urbanites look away. You’ll find no bright lights or big cities here. The attraction of La Digue is that there are none. Instead it’s just long ribbons of perfect beach, lush inland forests and enough kaleidoscopic coral reef to make any diver weak at the knees. Because of La Digue’s proximity to both Praslin and Mahe, it is considered part of the holy trinity of the Seychelles. Life is taken at a slow pace here – transport is by bicycle or ox-cart (there are rumors that motor taxis exist but for now that’s just hearsay), entertainment is a slow walk on paths shaded by tropical flowers, and life hums to the rhythm of bygone days. That is the true attraction of La Digue, the very other worldliness of the island; the feeling that nothing has changed since the 18th century. In fact, some of the residents (called Digueois) still carry the names of their forefathers, who arrived as slaves with the French colonialists in 1789.
The island’s beaches are, of course, legendary. The jewel in La Digue’s crown (and there are so many) would have to be La Anse Source d’Argent, frequently considered as one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. This is truly the Holy Grail - a long string of powdery, white sand, bordered by the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Scattered around the beach and shore are smooth granite boulders that form coves and caves and provide home for some of the most colorful underwater life you’re ever likely to see, as well as providing a most unique beach stroll experience.

Loved by those who like their paradise just as nature intended, Praslin is one the Seychelles’ most beautiful islands. And why? Anse Lazio – the island’s beach is a repeated winner for world’s best, making the island a pull for travellers who want to go the extra mile to find an unblemished island nirvana. Praslin might be the second largest of the Seychelles islands but at just 11 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide, it is still very small. The difficulty in getting to it (other than arrival by sea, there is only a small airport that only serves flights to and from the Seychelles’ capital of Mahe) which means there are no modern attractions – but on the contrary, entertainment here comes very much in the purely natural flora and fauna of the land and surrounding sea.
The island’s original name is Isle de Palmes and it’s not hard to see why. The lush jungle that makes up the island’s interior has it all; bubbling brooks, winding paths and towering trees that provide welcome respite from the sun. This is the true heart of the island; not only is the jungle home to the endemic Black Parrot (fewer than 1,000 of these very rare birds are in existence) but also the famous Coco de Mer, the world's heaviest nut, grows abundantly in the wild. The nut is the stuff of legends.

Deposits and balance payments for all cabin suites
Silversea Cruise Line requires a deposit of 25 percent of your total cruise cost. This is charged by Silversea to your credit card 7 days after making your reservation. (So if booking a double occupancy space in a Vista Suite at $9200, your deposit will be $2300)
The balance payment is not due until Friday July 7.
Cancelation policy for this cruise:
If you cancel by April 15th, you get your full deposit refunded to you less $250 which Silversea then converts into a $250 future cruise credit good on a future Silversea cruise.
If you cancel between April 15th and July 6th, and we are able to replace you with another passenger in your suite, then you will still get the full deposit, less the same $250 which Silversea will still convert to a future cruise credit on Silversea.
If you cancel after the July6th balance payment date, but before July 15th and we are able to replace you with another passenger in your suite, you will still get a full refund of your full payment, less the same $250 that Silversea will convert to a future cruise credit on Silversea.
If you cancel after July 15th, but we are able to replace you, with another passenger in your suite, you will get a refund less a sliding scale of penalties imposed by Silversea, based on when you cancel.
If you cancel after April 15th and we are not able to replace you, then you will lose the full amount you have paid to that point.
Travel Insurance is available and is highly suggested. This covers you for all non- refundable penalties for a cancelation resulting from a medical reason covered by the insurance company. Ask us for travel insurance rates if you are interested in covering yourself.
