Walls of ice at Glacier Bay

The beauty of natural wonders and rustic wildlife sightings makes this Alaska cruise a remarkable experience. Take a dogsled ride, or a tram ride up Mount Roberts in Juneau, or walk along the majestic Mendenhall Glacier there.  Witness Misty Fjords aboard a jet-powered catamaran in Ketchikan, or take a wildlife day cruise or a guided nature walk to see native wildlife in their natural habitat.  In Skagway, enjoy a stunning train excursion on the Skagway White Pass Scenic Railway, or enjoy a scenic coach ride to an awe inspiring suspension bridge with many photo stops for more breathtaking scenery. In Victoria, enjoy an excursion to witness the amazing floral displays at Butchart Gardens.

Plus, enjoy an amazing day in Glacier Bay, as our cruise sails up close to give everyone a chance to witness the dramatic activity of “glacial calving”, where large chunks of ice break off the glaciers and crash into the bay creating both an awe inspiring site and sound.  Have your cameras and phones ready to capture the photos and videos that will create memories of a lifetime.

Our cruise starts and ends in Seattle, making for ease of flights each way.

Our cruise is aboard the new NCL Bliss, just launched in 2018, with all the latest bells and whistle, she is fun in every sense of the word.

The Bliss also offers the option of studio cabins, enabling those travelling alone to have their own cabin on the ship, which is designed specifically for one occupant, rather than for two, thus saving  $$$ over traditional single occupancy rooms, which merely place solo travelers in a room designed for two people, thus imposing a traditionally very expensive single room supplement.  Join us on this sailing and if travelling alone, you can choose one of our limited number of studio cabins, designed for solo occupancy, to give you the privacy of your own room for the 7 night cruise & save you $$$.

Description: 7-Day Awe of Alaska: Inside Passage & Glacier Bay from Seattle

Optional Three night pre cruise land package in Seattle.
Thursday July 2nd – Arrive in Seattle and make your way to our 4 star hotel
This evening we will have a welcome orientation at the hotel.

Friday July 3rd – Today we will enjoy a full day guided tour of Mount Ranier National Park
This Mt Rainier day trip begins with a convenient pickup at our hotel in Seattle.  Then prepare for a narrated, scenic drive featuring Alder Lake Park and the town of Eatonville at the foothills of Mt Rainier.  Stop at Longmire, the visitor center at the southwest corner of the park, to explore their museum and National Park Inn. Visit Christine Falls, with one of the signature views in Mt Rainier National Park.  Then we will walk along the Nisqually River to see the Narada Falls, considered the most popular waterfall in Mt Rainier National Park.   At 188 feet, it is taller than even the world renowned Niagara Falls.

Then it’s off to the pinnacle event of the day: the view at Paradise, which is 5,400 feet above sea level.  Purchase lunch here and take in the incredible view of Mt Rainier and the valley below.  Be on the lookout for wildlife wandering around the mountain at any time. During the summertime, simply enjoy the scene at Reflection Lake, which provides one of the most iconic views of Mt Rainier. It’s absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to bring a camera. Finally, visit the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise to learn more about the history of Mt Rainier, including a brief film about it. Then it’s a drive back down the mountain to hit the road back to our hotel in Seattle.

Tonight, if you wish, join us for an optional evening excursion to visit the iconic Space Needle Tower, Seattle’s famous landmark which towers over the city like a shining beacon.

This is it.  You’re about to walk into a memory.  Soaring 520 feet skyward. The city actually, really, truly at your feet.  Step up.  Step out. Step beyond your comfort zone.  And experience wonder on a higher level.

Seattle’s “must see” is now a “must do” following the Space Needle’s multi-million dollar renovation.  Glide onto The Loupe, the world’s first and only rotating glass floor, for never-before-seen views of the structure and the city.  Lean into our Skyrisers, the tilting glass walls on the open-air deck, and float over Seattle on one of the 24 angled vantage points. Sip and sample the Pacific Northwest’s best while savoring the thrilling views. Have a bite at the café, offering burgers, sandwiches and other lite bites if you wish.

Saturday July 4th – Today we will enjoy a half day sightseeing excursion to visit a winery, a chocolate factory and a stunning waterfall!

This relaxing 6-hour winery and sightseeing tour starts with a pickup from our Seattle hotel from 9:15a.m. to 10:15a.m. Travel over Lake Washington on Seattle’s famous Evergreen Point Bridge to Woodinville, home to dozens of Washington wineries. The Evergreen State has produced a number of top wines. Our tour will stop for a visit at two wineries.  While at each one, if you wish, enjoy tastings (own expense) at the world-class Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, as well as at least one other award-winning Seattle winery.

Next, enjoy a picnic lunch (own expense), and then take in the lush Northwest scenery in the foothills of the beautiful Cascades. We will then be driven past horse ranches and flower farms en route to Snoqualmie Falls where we will enjoy a photo stop of this breathtaking falls.  . Finally, we will stop at Boehm’s Swiss Chocolate Factory in Issaquah where European-style, hand-dipped chocolates and candies are produced, before the return trip back to our hotel.

Tonight we will enjoy a fabulous fireworks display to celebrate the holiday.

The Seafair Summer Fourth -- as it's now known -- promises to be spectacular, with a unique water-based display featuring hundreds of white strobes floating directly on the lake, and a finale that'll be over 1,000 feet high and cover an area nearly 1,500 feet across.

You feel like you're right beneath the fireworks. Plus there's live entertainment, street food vendors, traditional games like sack races and pie-eating contests, and most importantly, a beer garden. They also offer reserved seating at the Gas Works viewing platform if you want to shell out a few dollars.
