Tamarindo Beach Resort is located on the north pacific coast.  It is an ideal place located in the heart of TAMARINDO, recognized as one of the country’s nicest beaches, best snorkel and surf opportunities, best nightlife and restaurant opportunities in the country.

Tamarindo itself has grown over the years into a little village, with boutiques, restaurants, nightclubs and bars.  All you need, you will find at a short walking distance from the hotel. Tamarindo Diriá is a modem 4 star property, offering superb views of the Pacific Ocean.

Our hotel has inviting rooms, finely decorated, surrounded by tropical gardens, spacious and air conditioned that guarantee a pleasant stay along one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica., each with a private patio or balcony and the ease to walk out to the huge lagoon pool with swim up bar and swim up waterfall.

Our resort’s bar and restaurant have the best ocean front location in all of Tamarindo Beach. The restaurant is located under an amazing natural wonder: a giant native tree that gives shade to a lovely atmosphere right on the ocean, where our customers can enjoy beautiful sunsets right at the surf break, a large variety of cocktails and live music while you sample the specialties of our international menu.

The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy free time to relax on the soft sandy beach, or on a comfortable lounge under a palm tree on a raised deck overlooking the beach, or go swimming in three hotel pools, (our lagoon pool with swim up bar and waterfall, a beachfront pool, an adults only quiet pool, plus a small children’s pool.)  There is also a whirlpool.

Of course, the most popular attraction is just relaxing on a lounge chair for relaxation and a tan, or taking a dip in the ocean.   Our hotel offers the unique combination of a fabulous beach for those who enjoy being right on the sand, or for those that prefer a little shade, our hotel offers lounge chairs across an elevated grassy sun deck, lined with large palm trees, offering shade while overlooking scenic ocean vistas.

This evening at 7pm, we will have a group orientation to meet each other and meet Gustavo, our local, bilingual guide.  He has been with us guiding our Costa Rica trips since our first visit 20 years ago and he is the most knowledgeable, conscientious and dedicated guide you will meet anywhere.

We will have a brief orientation and then we are at our leisure to enjoy the many offerings of the Tamarindo Beach area, including several restaurants and nightclubs which are walking distance from our hotel.

 Sunday February 3rd (B)
Today we will enjoy a leisurely two hour wildlife viewing boat cruise followed by approx. 30 minutes guided walk through Baula National Park and the Tamarindo Estuary.

This is a wonderful two hour tour to observe wildlife in their own natural habitat, both from our boat and on a guided walking tour exploring the mangroves in the southern end of Las Baulas National Marine Park and the Tamarindo Estuary.

The scenery is beautiful in itself and along the way our expert local bilingual guide will point out loads of birds including blue herons, pipers and frigate birds. Crocodiles and monkeys in their natural habitat may also be seen.  Some of the monkeys in this area are howler monkeys which are great fun to observe, as they make fun “howling” noises.

Part of the trip is on foot in mangroves were you can observe more wildlife in their natural habitat.

At the end of the walk, we will return to the boat and we will cruise back and have the chance to see some iguanas, crocodiles, monkeys and more birds. Altogether this will be a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours spent observing wildlife in their natural habitat.
Upon our return to the resort, enjoy the splendors of the beach, the pools and if you wish, maybe even enjoy a massage overlooking the beach.

This evening is Super Bowl Sunday and we will enjoy a fun Super Bowl Party with ocean views at one of the bars or restaurants along the beach!

Monday February 4th  (B)
This morning we will enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then a morning at leisure to relax on the beach, or on the hotel's lounge chairs facing the ocean, idyllically located under the cool breezes of swaying palm trees, providing the option of lounging in the sun or  the shade.  You can walk right onto the beach and get your tan on the golden sand, take a leisurely walk along the sandy beach or take a swim in the warm ocean.

If you wish, take a surfing lesson or a beachfront massage (only $20 for a 30 minute massage on the beach) or enjoy an optional morning excursion to go ATV riding along the beach.

This afternoon we will enjoy a sailing excursion from 1:00-6:30. The excursion will offer our passengers the chance to relax on deck, with outdoor deck space for lying out under the sun, as well as covered seating space for those wishing the comfort of the shade. Large bean bags are also provided to relax on and soak up the sun from the outdoor deck area during our sailing.

We will enjoy plentiful appetizers and drinks (both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks will be provided at no cost by our captain and his crew sailing us on a course to some of the best snorkeling in the area (snorkeling equipment is provided for those wishing to go snorkeling, as are kayaks, each at no cost).
Antares is a 1947 Sparkman and Stephens sailboat, and is a great sailing vessel. We have comfortable bean bags on deck, and take a limited amount of guests. Although we have an open bar and our crew are serving throughout the tour, this is much more than just a booze cruise.  We are served 5 plates of delicious food ...a tofu salad, a salmon plate, a vegetable and fruit ceviche with guacamole and after snorkeling we serve a tasty curry soup with veggies, shrimp and rice and then, lastly we have a chocolate muffin with fruit, chia and cream.

While you enjoy the sailing, beautiful views and gentle breeze, you will enjoy our talented live music. You will be so relaxed and comfortable. You can go snorkel, swim around the boat, go to the beach, use our kayak or paddleboard, or just laze around on deck.  For guests needing shade, we have plenty on our aft deck. Our experienced captain is also a medical doctor, and a certified lifeguard. You will be in very good hands. We guarantee a wonderful day aboard

What to bring today:  All you need to bring is your towel, sunscreen and bathing suit

As our sailing excursion returns, we will enjoy a spectacular sunset at sea, with an open bar and service provided by the boat’s crew.

We will return to the Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort for the evening at leisure to enjoy the restaurants and nightclubs, all walking distance from our hotel once more.
